HOW TO REGISTER?

STUDENTS OF BASIC ENGLISH DEPARTMENT: Students who have the right to continue the Basic English Department will only pay tuition fee and not make interactive registration.

STUDENTS WHO WILL REGISTER TO THEIR PROGRAM FOR THE FIRST TIME: Those students should learn their adviser’s name from the Department Chairperson and then from their adviser they should learn the courses they must take. After this, they should make interactive registration. Those students who have been exempted from compulsory English course (ENG 101) will see the grade of “EX” (exempted) for the course on the registration screen.

STUDENTS CONTINUING THEIR PROGRAM: Students attending the undergraduate and graduate programs can register after they have seen their advisers.

DOUBLE MAJOR MINOR PROGRAM STUDENTS: (New students will register during the add drop period): New student need to learn who their academic advisor is from the department chair and learn their required courses from their academic advisor. Students need to make their online registration from PC rooms. Students must to make registration and take advisor approval for both of their programs separately. If a student takes a course for both of his / her programs he / she needs to register the course to both programs separately. If a student wants an already taken course to be added he / she has to do the due process for both of his / her programs. 

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: Foreign students who have been newly accepted to METU and who will be registered for the first time will hand in the required documents to the student advisors in the International Students Office next to the Solmaz Izdemir Hall at the library building. After this, they will learn their user code and password from the Computer Center/1st Floor/Room 114. Then, they will learn their academic adviser’s name from their department and then from their adviser they will learn the courses they should take. They should register these courses at computer rooms. After course registration, they should take adviser approval.

READMITTED STUDENTS (DISMISSED STUDENTS WITH THE RIGHT TO RE-ENTER METU) (Those students will register during add-drop period). The students, who have been absent for at least one semester, should submit the required documents to their departmental adviser in the Registrar’s Office. After taking a user name and password from the Computer Center, they will learn their academic adviser’s name from their department and then from their adviser they will learn the courses they should take. Then, they can register interactively. The documents required for registration of these students: receipt of tuition fee, 6 passport size photos, passport copy, residence permit copy. The students, who have taken their High School Diploma or Pre-Degree Diploma during their registration withdrawal, should return these diplomas to the Registrar’s Office during registration.
